Reducing our impact
As one of the world's largest logistics, we recognise our responsibility to play an active part in addressing climate change and engaging across our value chain to enable decarbonisation in the transport and logistics sector
Our commitment to net zero 2050
We have and committed to reaching net-zero emissions by 2050, both in our own operations (scope 1 and 2) and across the value chain (scope 3). Our targets and accounting principles are developed in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) framework , to ensure that our decarbonisation strategy is based on the latest climate science and is in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement.
As part of our sustainability strategy, we have set a near-term to reduce emissions under our direct control (scope 1 and 2) by 50% and indirect emissions (scope 3) by 30% in 2030 against our 2019 baseline. Our near-term targets are validated by SBTi.
Our sustainability goals
We have set a science-aligned target to reduce our carbon intensity 40% by 2025 over our 2018 baseline numbers. To reach this goal, we will:
- Find energy efficiencies within our facilities
- Cultivate a sustainable workplace culture through procurement and engagement
- Invest in renewable energy certificates (RECs)
In 2021, we reduced our Scope 1 and 2 emissions intensity by 36% against a goal of 40% by 2025, putting the company at 90% to completion and on track to meet the goal prior to 2025.
