The Federal Government has cancelled the scheduled West African Senior School Certificate Examination for School Candidate for the year 2020 two days after.
A recent development following the declaration of the federal government that SS3 students should resume for revision and examination shows that the unity schools (Federal Government Schools) will no longer be part of the plan.
State governments who wish to continue with the schedule examination of August 4 to September 5, 2020 have been advised to take precaution as the active cases of then COVID-19 increases day by day.
Meanwhile, stakeholders in the education sector has advised WAEC to tread cautiously.
In another development, Deep Learners Media gathered that the national head of the council has pleaded with concerned individuals and organizations to support the council with PPE as the council did not budget for those before registering the students. The boss added that more members of the examination personnel would be hired during then supervision of the examination. According to him, all these would amount to additional cost for the examination body.
What is your view? Should these students (Unity Schools) be denied to write the WASSCE or should the examination be postponed altogether?
